Paul Kimball (Dr. Blind & Chorus Master)

Paul KimballPaul Kimball (Dr. Blind & Chorus Master) has been active in the arts in Stockton since 1981. He has served as music director for over forty productions, including The King and I with Patricia Morrison at Delta College, Les misérables at Tokay High School, the Stockton Sesquicentennial at Weber Point, the 2004 All American City Competition in Atlanta, Georgia, The Music Man at Delta College—for which he was awarded the regional Elly Award—and Cinderella and The Sound of Music at Stockton Civic Theatre. He has guest-conducted Ballet San Joaquin in Falla’s El amor brujo, twice guest-conducted the Stockton Symphony’s Mervyn’s Family Concerts, served as chorus master for Stockton Opera’s 2013 production of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, and garnered high acclaim for his portrayal of Adolfo Pirelli, singing the role in Stockton Civic Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd.

Mr. Kimball has taught music in the Lincoln Unified School District for twenty-seven years—twenty years at Tully C. Knoles and the past seven at Lincoln High School. This season his top choir is one of only ten accepted to compete in the Golden State Choral Competition. Mr. Kimball graduated from the University of the Pacific’s Conservatory of Music, and served as third horn in the Stockton Symphony for twenty-seven years. He has conducted the Zion (formerly St. John’s) Chamber Orchestra for several years, featuring many talented soloists including Frank Wiens, Patricia Shands, Lisa van der Ploeg, Ann Miller, Linda Wang, Daniel Ebbers, and James Jaffe. He is married to Dr. Dominee Muller-Kimball; they have two daughters: Alyssa and Ashley.
